Numerical Modelling for Simulation and Planning of Focused Ultrasound Treatments
Book CoverAbstract
This chapter discusses the challenges of treatment planning and numerical simulation for therapeutic ultrasound. Treatment planning for ultrasound therapies is similar to that for many other external beam therapies, but the simulation aspects are specific to ultrasound. Furthermore, in this case, it is the simulation of the acoustic field that presents the most significant computational challenge.
